SnowFest in March

Every spring since 1982, North Lake Tahoe comes alive with ten fun-filled days and nights, jam packed with events and activities for all ages. This year, the annual favorites will be back, along with a host of great new ones! This year SnowFest runs from March 1-11, 2012.

On and off the mountain, at North Tahoe's numerous resorts and vibrant lakeside neighborhoods, there's something for everyone. Enjoy on-snow events at resorts like Squaw Valley USA, Alpine Meadows, Homewood, Diamond Peak, and Northstar-at-Tahoe; Participate in special events, parades, races, parties, concerts, theater; and of course, there's plenty of wining and dining to be had at North Lake Tahoe's fine restaurants and lively establishments.

Join in and celebrate the fun! There's no better time to be in North Lake Tahoe. Snow conditions in early March are some of the best of the season.

SnowFest Kings Beach Parade

Mark your calendars for the annual Kings Beach SnowFest Parade in Downtown Kings Beach. Plan on spending the day in Kings Beach as we celebrate 30 Years of SnowFest fun in North Lake Tahoe! Parade is from 11:30 - 12:30pm. You can register to enter the parade as well. Go to Caliente for the after parade party including a raffle, prizes, etc..

Pro Ski Patrol Race and Taco Feed

As part of SnowFest, this Tuesday, March 8th Ski Patrol teams from as far as Kirkwood race against rival mountains for the fastest ski patroler title at Homewood Ski Area. Spectators can enjoy delicious tacos as they watch this fantastic show on the mountain and enjoy other SnowFest activities this week!

Polar Bear Swim

On Saturday, March 5th participants will compete in a swimming race in Lake Tahoe (40 degree water), beyond the end of Gar Woods pier and back (approx. 225 yards). Hundreds gather to watch brave souls swim in this race in Lake Tahoe in March! Come join them or, be a spectator from the sidelines while enjoying a Wet Woody! Prizes for men’s & women’s categories, huge raffle to follow! This is just one of the great SnowFest activities.
